Our fellow ranger Peter Hornsby has in the past been a volunteer with the British Heart Foundation to help out with the BHF Vale of Belvoir bike ride, something I'm sure your aware off and like myself maybe have even taken part in.
Peter's Regional Events Organiser has been in touch with him again asking for help, but this year he will be of the roadside and on the saddle doing the ride this year, we wish you all the best Peter, as he is unable to help out this year he has been asked by BHF to think of anyone that may want to volunteer on the day to cover marshall points, refreshment points and drivers to sweep the routes and for pre event volunteers to display posters/postcards to promote the event on Sunday 11 May.
If your interested in helping out then do contact Helen Wright, Regional Events Organiser- The North at wrighth@bhf.org.uk or at 07896 414 512.
More information about the ride can be found here.

As always our neighbouring group at Newark once again have organised a number of rides open to all starting from April, the most depart from Newark and they aren't a race so no one get's left behind. And as with previous years they will be in the Grantham area with the Grantham Triangle ride mid October.

Gonerby Hill Foot Primary School Cycle Shelter

Pupils and staff attended a Bike Breakfast along with Jon and Councillor Davies, a local member for Grantham and school governor who performed the ribbon cutting ceremony.
It's great to see such moves in the town from Jon and I'm sure the shelter will have much use with the traffic free cycle path on North Parade running down from Gonerby and up from Barrowby Road and from the connecting Running Furrows Gate.
