The last 2 workdays in April and at the end of March have been well attended with a trio of volunteers, many thanks to Bob, Peter with myself. More about that in a bit but firstly the final details for the next workday on Sunday 27th below as previously announced.
Sunday 27 April, 10:30- 12:30 (2 hours max)
Meet at cycle path entrance at Belvoir Road bridge, Belvoir Road.
Map here.
Following on from the last workday the ramp area needs looking at so we shall make a start at cutting back vegetation and clearing the surface of built up soil, etc.
Bring along any tools you can suitable for the job in hand, gloves and ranger vest.
N.B. As this week looks a little unsettled it may make the Longmoor Bridge/Lane unsuitable to ride/walk which is why we shall proceed from Belvoir Road. If your running late then enter the cycle path from Belvoir Road Bridge and head NW to the the end of the path.
The last two gatherings have been very similar in the type of work, around both seating areas along the old rail paths at Stenwith and just off Longmoor Lane but both just as rewarding after being greeted with an overgrown seating area which after a few hours of scraping, weeding and pulling of weeds it had soon been cleared to give a much more inviting place to sit after a walk or cycle.
